Visit in Slovakia
From May 19 to May 25, 2024, twelve students from grades VII and VIII participated in a trip to a partner school in Rymavska Sobota, Slovakia. The trip was organized as part of the bilateral project "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind," funded by the Visegrad Fund. During the stay, students from both schools attended English lessons and various activities and workshops, including first aid skills training. They also developed manual skills by weaving wicker baskets. These meetings were an excellent opportunity for communication in English. The program organized by the host school focused on physical activity. Activities included joint soccer matches, badminton, gymnastics, and trampoline exercises. The project's theme also related to nutrition, encompassing both traditional cuisine and healthy meals. During culinary workshops, students together prepared a traditional Slovak dish – halušky and for dessert – poppy seed strudel.
Two days of the stay were dedicated to sightseeing trips. The students visited Košice, the second largest city in Slovakia, as well as the picturesque town of Brezno, where the Car Museum, showcasing vehicles from the second half of the 20th century, was of particular interest. The program also included a meeting with the mayor of Rymavska Sobota, who congratulated those gathered on the implementation of the bilateral project, expressed appreciation for such initiatives, and encouraged the continuation of project activities.
The project funded by the Visegrad Fund was another international project carried out by the Primary School in Czuryły, involving trips to foreign schools and partner institutions. And certainly not the last one.
